Easter is always an enjoyable time in our school as we get to participate in an Easter Egg Treasure Hunt. We are fairly good treasure finders too and this year, with the exception of one egg, we found all the eggs in record time. Thanks to our teachers for organising this event.
Each year, we dress up in green to mark the feast day of St. Patrick, our patron saint. This year, this event was a little more special as were just just back at school and as Covid restrictions meant we couldn’t have our usual out-of-school celebrations, we went ‘all out’ and it was wonderful to…
We were delighted to participate in the ‘Community Garda Christmas Card Initiative’. As part of our participation in this programme, the children from 1st to 3rd class decorated Christmas cards which had been forwarded to us by the Community Gardaí. The children also wrote their own Christmas message on the card. These Christmas cards were…
Halloween is always an exciting time in our school as we get a chance to dress-up and what a blaze of colour we witnessed on the last day of term as we arrived kitted out again in all sorts of imaginative, weird, unusual and ghoulish costumes. We had a party also and in light of…
For this year’s school tour, we toured our local area and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring our beautiful coastline in addition to old buildings (eg. Easkey Castle, The Lodge, Longford House and Aughris Village) and other interesting landmarks such as Lough Easkey, Split Rock and Jimmy Lindsay Walk.
Staff and pupils at the school are really grateful to one of our parents who invited one of his paramedic colleagues to visit us in his ambulance. We all got a tour of the ambulance and we also got a chance to perform life-saving skills on the very real-looking mannequin.
Bhí Lá na Pancóga ann inniu agus mar is gnách d’ullmhaigh ár múinteoirí pancóga dúinn. Bhí rogha maith againn maidir le rudaí a chur ar na pancóga, m.sh. síoróip sútha talún, síoróip mailpe, mil, subh, siúcra, sú liomóid agus “Nutella”. Bhí an t-ádh linn freisin mar thóg buachaill cneasta “marshmallows” isteach agus bhí an-tóir orthu….
We have had a long cold winter but fortunately for some, not cold enough to bring a few decent snow showers so therefore when a little snow falls, one has to make the most of it. This week, we had some snow and we were determined to get out and throw every possible little snowflake…
Last month, to complete our Gymnastics lessons with Leah, we had a Gymnastics Display to which our parents were invited. Knowing that the preparation time was short, we practised very hard for our display and though on the day, nerves caused a few little hiccups, we were very happy with our performance and our audience…
This week, we performed our Christmas Plays and they were just outstanding. The junior children’s excellent production centred around the theme of “waiting” for Christmas and the birth of Jesus while the senior children wowed the audience with its tale from Hamelin. We work extremely hard for our plays, learning our lines, singing songs, perfecting…
