We have been extremely busy behind the scenes working on an exciting new project—our school mural! Our new school mural is a vibrant reflection of our values and identity as a school community. In conjunction with our Bí Cineálta policy and its message of “Be Kind, Be Brave,” we set out to create a mural that would capture what this means to us in our daily lives.
With the help and guidance of talented artist Linda Fahrlin, this vision became a reality. The children were involved at every stage of the process—from initial discussions and planning, to developing ideas, creating sketches, painting backgrounds, and scaling their drawings onto the large wall. They worked collaboratively and creatively throughout, showing great enthusiasm and pride in their work.
The mural reflects what “Be Kind, Be Brave – Bí Cineálta” means to our students. It captures what is important to them, including our school ethos, friendships, community, activities, nature, and our learning environment. It is a true representation of their voices and experiences.
Linda worked closely with us throughout the process—facilitating ideas, inspiring creativity, and helping us shape a mural that truly represents who we are. We are incredibly grateful for her guidance and support in bringing our shared vision to life.
We are delighted with how it has turned out and are proud to share it as a symbol of positivity, creativity, and belonging within our school.
