Our school recently celebrated World Book Day with great excitement and creativity. As always, pupils enjoyed dressing up as their favourite book characters, bringing many well-loved stories to life throughout the school.
This year, however, there was an exciting new initiative introduced by our Student Council — a Book Swap. In the spirit of recycling and sharing a love of reading, pupils were invited to bring in previously read books from home to add to the swap table. Throughout the day, children had the opportunity to browse the collection and choose a different book to take home and enjoy.
The Student Council even created a fantastic slogan for the initiative:
“Swap the Old, New Stories Unfold.”
The Book Swap was a wonderful success, encouraging pupils to discover new stories while giving pre-loved books a new home. It was also a great way to promote sustainability and remind us that books can be enjoyed again and again.
We would like to thank our Student Council for their creativity and leadership in organising this initiative. Following such a positive response, we are looking forward to continuing the Book Swap throughout the year so that even more pupils can share and discover great books.
Well done to everyone who took part in making this year’s World Book Day such a memorable celebration of reading! 📖
