We had a really entertaining morning recently when Roscommon-based “Circus Corvinni” paid us a visit. The Corvinni family is very talented indeed especially the three youngest family members, namely Nathan, Cameron and Madison. Nathan is a fantastic juggler who entertained us by juggling balls, swords, skittles and even knives. He also did a daring acrobatic act…
Recently we celebrated Pancake Day in our school. Our teachers made a lot of pancake batter so we got lots of pancakes. We had a choice of lemon juice, nutella, sugar, jam, honey or maple syrup as toppings for our pancakes so there was something to suit everyone and they were just delicious.
Last Friday, we staged our annual Christmas plays and, without doubt, we really did entertain our audience. The junior children performed a wonderful version of the Nativity (with a little twist) while the senior children executed a superb showing of “Hansel and Gretel”. From the youngest child to the oldest child in our school, our…
For Halloween, we had our usual dress-up day. We had witches, vampires, ghosts, skeletons, clowns, and many other strange creatures. Even a duck waddled in! It was a fun day as we partied with our friends and enjoyed some music and dancing.
Recently we had a visit from Daithí Lavelle who is a beekeeper. Daithí told us lots about bees and his work as a beekeeper. Being a beekeeper is a busy job and Daithí works hard to keep all the bees in his hives happy. Daithí showed us one of his beehives (it was uninhabited!) and…
Last week, we had our school sports. It was an amazing fun-filled day. We had lots of different races, eg. running, sack, potato and spoon, three-legged, wheelbarrow, piggy back, spider, etc. We also did some hula-hooping and skipping. Throwing a very large wellie was also lots of fun as was the penalty shootout. We were…
Last week, we headed to Boyle for our school tour. The senior children first headed to Zipit Forest Adventures while the junior children went to Tullyboy Farm. At the farm, the younger children enjoyed seeing a “working farm” in action and they also had a few fun rides on the vehicles there. The Zipit courses…
On Friday, 2nd June we made a Skype call to a Turtle Hospital in Florida. Teresa, who was speaking to us was so well-informed on everything to do with turtles and their care. We got the opportunity to ask her lots of questions and indeed it was quite strange at first when she began to…
We really enjoyed the last day of school before the Easter holidays as our teachers organised an Easter Egg Hunt. It was not too difficult but still lots of fun searching for all of the eggs and we were happy heading home with a tasty chocolate treat to look forward to.
Recently, we celebrated “Breakfast Day” in our school. Our teachers, helped by Leah, fed us extremely well. We had cereal, sausages, rashers, toast and waffles watered down with tea or orange juice. It was a busy day for our teachers but we had a great time as we shared food with our friends. We also…
