Christmas excitement is building in our school and, this week, we put up our Christmas tree and other decorations. Our youngest pupil topped our Christmas tree with our angel and then we gathered around to sing some Christmas songs. We just love Christmas and we’re being very careful to be ‘as good as gold’.
We love out-of-school trips and so were delighted to head off to watch, ‘The Snowman‘ in the Hawk’s Well Theatre, Sligo. This was a really brilliant show with wonderful narration by Robert Fitzpatrick who along with the other cast members did an amazing job of bringing this wonderful story (which was originally told entirely through…
This week, we were delighted to travel to Tubbercurry to view the show, ‘Santa and the Three Little Pigs’. This was a very enjoyable show which really helped to get us into the Christmas spirit. We’re really looking forward to Christmas and are being particularly good to ensure Santa stops at our house on Christmas…
We had a little snow recently and though it was very cold, we had fun going outdoors and throwing the odd ‘icy’ snowball. Hopefully, we’ll get a little more snow later this year so that we can get really into the business of throwing snowballs and making snowmen!
‘Halloween Dress Up’ was lots of fun again this year as we all got very creative with our costumes. We, excitedly, greeted all our friends as they arrived in the morning and sometimes we had difficulty knowing who was behind the masked face. We really love Halloween!
We greatly appreciate all our SNA, Geraldine, does in our school so we were delighted to surprise her with a little treat for SNA Appreciation Day. Thank you, Geraldine from all of us!
After a summer of relatively poor weather, we were thrilled to see a little sunny weather come our way in mid-September, and to celebrate, we were treated to a delicious ice-cream from the ice-cream van. Hopefully, the sunny weather will continue and we’ll get the chance to enjoy lots more ice-cream.
Earlier this month, we welcomed AgriAware’s mobile farm to our school. During the visit, we were introduced to pigs, sheep, cattle, hens, geese and ducks and told lots of information about them. We were also allowed to hold some of the poultry and rub the larger animals. This was a really fun visit and we…
Last week, we held a very successful Big Toy Swap in our classroom. Children from both classrooms brought in some of their previously-loved toys and books which were then placed on display tables for our prospective ‘customers’ to view. Our senior girls also set up a ‘Beauty Parlour’ where children could have make-up, hair and…
Our annual school sports is always an eagerly-awaited event in our school and this year was no exception. We came to school sports-ready with potato, sack, teddy, etc. Our day started off with the usual races, e.g. running, sack, 3-legged, potato and spoon, piggyback, wheelbarrow, washing line, spider, etc. Then we had the tug o’…
