The final day of the schoolyear is always tinged with a little bit of sadness as we bid farewell to our 6th Class pupils. This year, we said goodbye to 3 amazing pupils. This particular trio was respectful, kind, cheerful, good-humoured and helpful. They were always willing to look out for younger pupils and to…
To celebrate Cumann na mBunscol being 50 years old this year, an art competition was organised. One of our pupils, who is also a great artist, completed an amazing picture and we were thrilled when we were informed that he had been selected as the overall winner. Áine, from Sligo Cumann na mBunscol, called to…
During lockdown, some of our pupils entered a faming-themed art competition run by Kiernan Milling. Our pictures all looked very good and we were delighted when it was announced that three of our pupils (all siblings) received an award. This is a very artsy family and it is great to see their enormous talent being…

Over the Easter break, some very kind and helpful parents worked very hard to refurbish our wooded area. They covered the ground with bark in addition to planting a new shrubbery area. They also installed an amazing homemade bug hotel which has been booked-out most nights! Since then, another parent has completed a very impressive-looking…

As part of our participation in this programme, the children from 1st to 3rd class decorated Christmas cards which had been forwarded to us by the Community Gardaí. The children also wrote their own Christmas message on the card. These Christmas cards were…
As the children in 3rd Class have had their First Holy Communion celebration postponed twice, we decided that they deserved a little treat. So with the help of Leah, a little surprise party was organised for Friday, 16th October. The senior classroom was decorated in style with balloons and banners, and two tables were laden…
After the unexpected school closure followed by the summer holidays, our return to school was a much-anticipated event. It was great to see everyone again and it was especially great to meet our new junior infants. There are a few changes but nonetheless, we are all looking forward to the year ahead.
The year 2020 will be remembered by all of us. Our country went into lock-down which meant that our nation’s schools closed for over 3 months. As the closure occurred at the end of the year, it meant we did not get the chance to say goodbye in-person to our 6th class pupils. These were…
