NextGenerationEU – Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP)

In 2021, as part of the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) – a project under the Recovery and Resilience Facility, funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU, our school received a grant to implement initiatives designed to address the digital divide and support learners at risk of educational disadvantage.

This funding was used to purchase Chromebooks, which have become an essential part of teaching and learning in our school. The Chromebooks are used to support pupil research, the creation of digital portfolios, and collaborative learning activities. They have also strengthened the connection between learning at home and in the classroom, promoting continuity and engagement across all settings.

In addition, the use of Chromebooks has helped pupils to develop vital digital presentation skills and build confidence in communicating their ideas using technology. This investment has played a key role in progressing digital learning in our school — a critical area of competence for our pupils’ future education and working lives.
