After a very active day at the Scarden GAA Grounds in May, our boys and girls teams were thrilled to earn a place in the Shield Final.
Last Thursday, we returned to Scarden for the big day. Our boys put in a great effort but came up against a very strong Banada side and, despite their determination, had to concede defeat.
Our girls, however, were more determined than ever and in a fiercely contested final against Kilrusheighter N.S., they really gave it their all. Thankfully, their hard work paid off, and they were overjoyed to be ahead when the final whistle blew.
A special moment followed as Ruth, our inspiring captain, proudly accepted the Shield trophy on behalf of her teammates. She also delivered a heartfelt victory speech, during which she extended best wishes to our principal and class teacher, Helen Kelly, on her upcoming retirement.
