Morning is Maths time in the senior room and we are always very busy exploring the different areas of the Maths curriculum. Recently, we have worked on fractions, 3D shape, decimals, mental maths and number operations. We have also gone outdoors to conduct a Maths trail and we did lots of measuring of the various outdoor surfaces thereby reinforcing our knowledge on length, width, perimeter and area. We particularly enjoyed working through the challenges of finding the area of our hexagonal picnic benches, the volume of our storage container and the area of the various circular objects.
