As winners in the 2-Teacher Cumann na mBunscol Competition, we were invited to Markievicz Park for the Tailtean Cup quarter-final between Sligo and Limerick. After an enjoyable first-half with our home county playing very well, we gathered with children from other winning schools and then paraded down the pitch in front of the watching crowd. After our procession, we had a little kick around before meeting Lauren Cadden, a local girl who won a silver medal in the 400 metres relay at the European Championship. With the pitch cleared, the match resumed and all the local supporters were thrilled to see Sligo come out on top. We wish the entire team and especially our past pupil, Paddy, the best of luck in the semi-final against Down in Croke Park.
