M-Pact (Moving Parents and Children Together)

Moving Parents and Children Together (M-PACT) is a free service available to families who may be impacted by alcohol or drug misuse. M-PACT  is designed to work with the whole family to address the concerns and effects of parental alcohol and other drug misuse, working to improve the outcome for all family members but especially the children and young people. M-PACT offers support to all families where there are children aged between 8–17 years old and can also assist with childcare costs for younger children, and transportation costs.

Over the course of a programme, the aim is to improve lives, minimise the disruption caused by addiction, reduce the long-term harms of substance misuse and help to break the cycle of addiction. With support, improved understanding and communication, the programme helps to build better coping strategies, raise self-esteem, and build relationships. M-PACT supports the family unit, giving each person a voice and reinforces the family bonds .
