This week, West Midlands Children’s Theatre visited our school to perform its latest production, “The Bluebird”. The three actors did an incredible job, playing multiple roles with ease and credibility, as they told the legend of “The Bluebird”. This legend, set long ago in Russia, tells the tale of Prince Ivan as he sets out in search of the “Bluebird of Happiness” which he hopes will give him the courage to defeat the forces of the Scarlet Queen. Prince Ivan journeys over land and sea to the royal court of the Empress of China and finally to the North Pole. In the end, he does not actually find “The Bluebird” but he does discover that true courage comes from the heart. This was a most entertaining show and allowed for much audience participation for which there were very many willing volunteers.
