Cumann na mBunscol Champions

On Saturday, 26th May we went to Markievicz Park to play in the final of the Cumann na mBunscol Mixed Competition. Our opponents were Ballinlig N.S. whom we had met previously in the earlier stages of the competition. As our first game against them was tough (it was only in extra-time that we managed to beat them), we didn’t expect an easy game. From the starting whistle, we had to work really hard. At half-time we had a slight lead and luckily we held onto this lead to win the game. We were really thrilled when the final whistle blew and it was great to receive a winner’s medal each and the winner’s trophy (which will be displayed in our school). We will remember this game for a long time and of course we won’t forget the after-match celebrations.
