Country Projects

Recently we completed a very interesting project. We worked in groups and each group was asked to explore a different country, namely Australia, China and Mexico. We did an enormous amount of research for our projects, using the Internet, Geography and History textbooks and library books. We explored many aspects of each country, eg. early settlers, sport, food, landmarks, traditions, government, population, natural features, flora, fauna, industry, etc. The background for all of our projects showed a map of the country being explored and its bordering countries. We then printed off facts, labels and pictures and we stuck them onto the background. We spent a lot of time rehearsing for the oral presentation of our project. Our presentations were viewed by the entire school and everyone seemed to enjoy them. The food samples went down particularly well and it was also good to use the Internet to show videos and images relevant to what we were talking about. We really enjoyed working on and presenting this project and we look forward to shortly presenting a European country.
