Mosaic Art

We have been studying the Ancient Romans. As mosaics often adorned the walls in the homes and “villas” of the wealthy Romans, we decided to try out our own mosaic art. To begin, we all experimented with creating a design on a coaster and then when we were happy with our design, we stuck our tiles to the coaster using a tile adhesive. With the coaster left aside to dry, we started our second project which was to decorate a plate or a flower pot using mosaics. We had to try and keep to our planned design while working smartly as the adhesive dried really quickly. However, after a lot of concentrated work and cooperation, we eventually finished our decorative piece and we were all very pleased with the result.
